7th National Youth Games: Okowa calls for drug free competition.

Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa has called on athletes to stay drug – free, if they must be counted among Future Champions.

Chief Okowa made the call while speaking at the flag off of the 7th National Youth Games which held on Saturday, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the Delta State capital.

While expressing optimism in the state of the arts sporting facilities assembled for the Youth Games, Chief Okowa enjoined AthIetes take advantage of the facilities and excel in their individual events.

The Commission’s Chairman who also doubles as the boss of the AthIetics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), welcomed all participants and urged Team Delta to win for the state as a parting gift to him, noting that the event would be the last Youth Games he would attend as Chairman of the Sports Commission.

Meanwhile, the governor of Delta State, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori commended the Delta Sports Commission team for packaging and giving the National Youth Games a bright head-start.
The youth fiesta will continue with different sporting events across the 23 venues till Saturday 30th September, 2023 when the Championship comes to climax
