City of Sydney votes for gas ban in new buildings.

The City of Sydney has become the latest New South Wales council to support a ban on gas in new buildings.

According to 9News, a motion to implement a ban went before the council last night, where it was backed by eight out of 10 councillors.
There has been no confirmed timeline for the implementation of any ban.
Waverley and Parramatta councils have previously voted in favour of similar bans, while in Victoria and the ACT the edict has been made state and territory-wide.
NSW Premier Chris Minns however said recently that a statewide ban was not on the cards, citing NSW’s different energy challenges.
