Crane Collapses at building site in Sydney

A crane has collapsed at the new Fish Market building site, in Sydney, Australia’s capital.

The crane arm reportedly collapsed on the site at Blackwattle Bay on Bridge Road in Pyrmont just after midday.

The collapse was however contained within the site.

Dozens of workers had been evacuated from the site of the multi-storey building under construction.

Fire and Rescue as well as NSW and police crews have also responded to the collapse.

NSW Police said in a statement that a man was treated on the scene of the incident by NSW Ambulance paramedics and will be taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition,”

“Safe Work NSW will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
