The wife of the Delta State Governor and Founder ‘You Matter Charity Foundation’, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has called for support for the MORE agenda of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration to improve the health of Deltans and stop the spread of viral hepatitis in the state.
Deaconess Oborevwori made the call when she received a delegation from the State Ministry of Health and the Hepatitis B Foundation and advocacy group, which paid her an advocacy visit.
Addressing the delegation, Deaconess Oborevwori reiterated that her pet Project, You Matter Charity Foundation, which comprised the concept of the universal health coverage, was aimed at improving the health of Deltans.
She assured the group led by the Director of Medical Services, Ministry Health, Dr. Chris Iwegbu, of her support towards raising awareness of hepatitis in the state.
Highlighting the importance of good health for all, the governor’s wife appealed to relevant stakeholders to garner more support for the people oriented programs of the present administration to better the lot of Deltans.
The leader of the delegation Dr. Chris Iwegbu and Dr. Catherine Freeland of the Hepatitis B Foundation sued for support in raising awareness and mobilizing resources to nip the public health menace in the bud.
Hepatitis B is a vaccine-preventable liver infection caused by hepatitis B virus.
This virus could be spread through sexual contact, blood or other body fluids.
