Delta Speaker Pledges Partnership with NUJ.

Speaker Delta State of Assembly, Honourable Emomotimi Guwor has assured that the State Legislature would continue to partner with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
He said this when the Executive of the union led by its chairman comrade Churchill Oyowe paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Asaba, the Delta state capital.

Describing journalists in the State as partners in progress, Honourable Guwor said the activities of the State legislature could not have been properly articulated by Deltans if not for the timely reportage by journalists.
In the area of security in the state, the Speaker said the governor being a grassroots politician, would continue to enthrone peace in the various local governments.
He assured that the State Legislature would synergize with the State security outfits to ensure that Delta state remains a safe haven for all.
In the area of passage of Bills, Honourable Guwor reaffirmed that the State Legislature would continue to pass Bills and bring up Resolutions that would impact the lives of Deltans positively.

Congratulating the Speaker on his emergence as Secretary of the Conference of Speakers in the country, Comrade Oyowe expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of the Speaker.
While applauding the speedy dispatch of Bills brought before the House, the NUJ Chairman sued for a legislation to curb the rising case of illegal homeless residents in the state.

The Speaker also played host to the State Executives of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ led by its chairperson Comrade Sonnia Unobunjo where he assured the union of partnership.

He also received on courtesy visit, members of the State Councilors Forum.
