Directorate of SDGs Delta State, equips staff

The importance of training and retraining of staff for better productivity was the fulcrum of a two-day training and workshop for staff of the Directorate of Sustainable Development Goals SDGs in Asaba, the Delta state capital.
Declaring the workshop open at the conference hall, the Director General, SDGs, Chief Daniel Ivwighren said training remained an integral part in the development of human capital, and a vital part of any establishment.

Chief Ivwighren said the choice of topics was based on the needs and services rendered by staff, adding that the move was a panacea for increased productivity in the Directorate.

He urged the staff to take the training serious to ensure the resources appropriated for the programme was fully utilized.

The Director SDGs and functioning Permanent Secretary, Mr Ebegha Areweweremi said staff were drawn from different departments in the Directorate, while resource persons were also internally drawn.
Mr. Areweweremi said the training was strategically designed to equip staff for effectively carryout their duties.

The resource persons including Mrs Damasus Anthonia and Enaohwo Evelyn lectured on the project and programme cycle management, SDGs and Governance, Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects, Public Service Accounting and Financial Statement Annalysis, as well as the History of SDGs from 2016 till date; the journey so far in Delta State.

They expressed happiness to impact knowledge and thanked the management for the confidence reposed in them.

Participants including Enebeli Canelyn and Richard Awunor expressed gratitude to the management for the training and promised to put the knowledge gained into good use.

The event featured questions and answers session where grey areas were clarified.
