The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon Innocent Esewezie on Saturday received commendation from the Delta State Ministry of Environment following an inspection carried out in some communities in the LGA by the officials of the Ministry.
Leading the team from the State was Dr. Mrs. M.I. Oseji, the Permanent Secretary, Min. of Environment as they toured Communities including the Akwukwu-igbo the Council Headquarters, Ibusa and Okpanam to ascertain the level of compliance with the monthly environmental sanitation.
Receiving the team from the State Government was the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Comr. Austin Eloka Ajufo who represented the Council Chairman, the Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Mrs Ofunne Stella Jones, the Head of Department of Environment, Mrs Clara Nwabudike, the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Ikechukwu Odeh, amongst others.
The Permanent Secretary presented Waste Baskets and Disposable Bags to the Local Government in cognizance of the structure put in place by the Council leadership in a bid to combat uncleanliness.
She spoke highly of the Sanitation stewards which she met on ground saying that it was worth replicating in other local government areas of the State.
In a related development, Hon Innocent Esewezie monitored the environmental sanitation exercise in the LGA, where he expressed satisfaction with what he met on ground.
