…”Justice Must Be Served” – Hon Esewezie Declares As He Consoles The Bereaved Family
The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Council, Hon. Innocent Esewezie on Sunday in the company of the Obuzor of Ibusa, HRM Prof. Louis Nwoboshi visited the family of Late Adim Izuka Ogbogu who was recently murdered over land dispute in Ibusa, Delta State.
The Chairman also visited the scenes of the reprisal attacks which resulted in houses numbering up to six being burnt down.
He inspected the damage done and was grateful that no further lives was lost due to the quick response of the Divisional Police Officer, SP Chidi Obioji and his team who rescued all those trapped in the fire.
Addressing the family of the late Adim Izuka Ogbogu, the Council Chairman, Esewezie spoke on the need to conduct proper investigation and unearth those involved in the murder. He noted that the death was totally unacceptable especially when one factors in the fact that the death is connected to land tussle
He assured the family that the local government under his leadership will fight for justice till the end.
The father of the deceased narrated the sad event which culminated in the loss of his son, Izuka.
The wife of the late Mr Adim in her response, described her husband as the best there was, pointing out that her husband was a man fighting for his right and did not deserve to be brutally murdered.
She called on the government to provide justice for the family.
The Obuzor Ibusa, Professor Louis Nwaoboshi also condoled with the family over the demise of Mr. Adim and prayed for God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Others in the entourage included the president general of Ibusa Community Development Union (ICDU), Chief Victor Uchuno, SSA to the Governor, Comr. Ifeanyi Nwaezeigwe, the Secretary to the Local Government, Comr. Austin Eloka Ajufo, the Palace Secretary and S.A. to the Executive Chairman on community relations, Onowu Austin Abuah, Palace Chiefs, Peace Ambassadors, Land Surveillance Committee, Past and present Community Youths Presidents amongst others.
