The Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, has called on Deltans to redouble support for Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for the accelerated transformation of the state.
Sir Ahon made the call when he received the Executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ughelli North Local Government Area chapter, led by its Chairman, Pastor Kesiena Nuomuodja.
The CPS, who noted that the administration of Hon Oborevwori was working hard to equitably develop all parts of the state, stressed that work was already ongoing in the Otovwodo area of Ughelli with a view to decongesting traffic on the East-West Road.
He pointed out that the party in Ughelli North had made progress in the 2023 general elections and advised that it should be sustained to change the narrative in future elections.
Sir Ahon said with the unity in the party, in 2027 PDP will win all elective positions in Ughelli North.
The PDP Chairman for Ughelli North, Pastor Kesiena Nuomuodja, had earlier said that the Party Executives were on the visit to appreciate the Governor for appointing one of their own as his CPS, noting that the position was well deserved, given the pedigree of the appointee as a veteran journalist.
Pastor Nuomuodja added that they were also seeking to collaborate and partner the Ofice of the CPS to improve on the future performance of Ughelli North PDP in subsequent elections.
He reaffirmed the loyalty of the party in the Local Government Area to the present administration in the state by strategizing with relevant stakeholders at the local government level towards 2027 general elections.
