Governor Oborevwori Calls for Partnership in Funding Delta State Security Trust Fund.

Delta state government has called for partnership in funding the State Security Trust Fund.

Governor of Delta State, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori made the call when he played host to the newly posted Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Abaniwonda Olufemi, and his management team at the Government House, Asaba, the Delta state capital.

While congratulating the Commissioner on his posting to the state, Governor Oborevwori urged him to work hard like his predecessor Mr Wale Abbas, who was recently promoted to the post of an Assistant Inspector -General of Police.

He said peace and security was the nucleus of his administration and sued for the support of all security agencies in securing all parts of the State.

The Governor said it was due to the synergy among security agencies that culminated in the peaceful atmosphere witnessed in Asaba, Warri and other parts of the state during the yuletide.

He assured the CP and his team that his administration will continue to cooperate with the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to sustain the peace in the state.

Governor Oborevwori called on oil companies to support the State Security Trust Fund, and gave an assurance that the state government would procure some operational vehicles for the police and other security agencies to enhance their operations.

The Commissioner in his remarks, promised to put in his best to ensure that peace and security prevailed across the state.

He promised to collaborate with the Governor and other stakeholders to ensure adequate security across the state.

Mr. Olufemi warned those aiding and abetting kidnapping in Asaba, Ughelli and other parts of the State to desist or be ready to face the full weight of the law.
