Ibusa Farmers Association Visit Hon. Esewezie, Seek Collaboration For Improved Agricultural Yield

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area Council, Hon Innocent Esewezie on Thursday received some members of the Ibusa Farmers Association led by Rev. (Dr.) Cynthia Nwanze and other members of the Executive.

The group were received at the Chief Peter Okocha Conference Room.

The leader of the delegation, Dr. Cynthia Nwanze said the group was formed to help protect the interest of all farmers in the Community.

She noted that the Association had over 250 members and were ready to identify and align their affairs with the activities of the Council.

The Executive Chairman commended the farmers for self-organising and fighting for their collective interest.

He pointed out that farmers were crucial to the planned industrialisation of the Local Government because they feed the nation, and described the extension of partnership arm to the Local Government, as a welcome development.

The Council Boss called for regular engagement to help place farmers in their rightful position.
