Mrs Wura-Ola Adepoju has been appointed as the substantive Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
Her appointment, approved by President Bola Tinubu, was announced to the staff of NIS moments after the Comptroller General inspected a parade.
Mrs Adepoju, who was acting as the CG since May 29, 2023, said the date for her formal decoration would be announced soon.
“You may also wish to know, that through the grace of God and by the benevolence of the present government, I have been confirmed as a substantive Comptroller General of Immigration.”
Mrs Adepoju who advised Nigerians against engaging with unauthorized individuals or middlemen encouraged them to renew their passports at least six months before the expiration date and
“We will soon be introducing a paperless passport application system, which will allow applicants to apply for their passports from the comfort of their homes.”
