JTF Theatre Commander tasks newly promoted senior officers on professionalism, proficiency of duty

The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Gold Chibuisi has charged newly promoted senior officers of the Command to implore more expertise and be professional in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

He gave the charge on Friday 3 November 2023, during the investiture ceremony of newly promoted senior officers of the JTF OPHK, held at the Theatre Command Officers’ Mess Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri.

General Chibuisi stressed that the military would not renege on its mission of decimating terrorists in the North East, and reiterated the sustainability of heightened offensives until the criminal elements are rid out of the general area.

He urged the troops to imbibe a high spirit of sacrifice, dedication to duty and a national call to service to their fatherland.

General Chibuisi said as senior officers in the Armed Forces, much would be expected of them in carrying out their responsibilities, and charged them to apply their skilful knowledge accordingly.

The representative of the General Consulate of Chad in Maiduguri Mr Bisou Yusuf, congratulated the benefitting officers on their well-deserved elevation, noting that it came due to their hard work and dedication to duty.

Mr Yusuf urged them to continue to put in their best, as they were on the right trajectory.

Giving his vote of thanks, Colonel AU Ahmed on behalf of the beneficiaries promised to redouble efforts to justify their promotion to the new ranks.

He thanked the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja and the Theatre Commander for finding them worthy of the promotion and assured that they would not betray the confidence reposed in them.

The ceremony was attended by senior military officers of OPHK, family well-wishers and wishers.

The newly decorated officers were; Col AU Ahmed, Lt Col DT Nienge, Wng Comd AT Ibrahim, Wng Comd IC Ohaegbulem and Lt Col Mahamat Ibrahim of the Chadian Army.
