The monthly environmental sanitation exercise for October will hold across Delta State on Saturday, October 28th 2023, between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m.
A statement signed by the Director of Public Communication, Ministry of information, Mrs Theresa Adiabua Oliko, says there will be restriction of vehicular and human movements during the exercise, except those on essential duties,
The statement advised residents to clean up their immediate surroundings, de-silt drains and ensure proper disposal of waste as well as fumigate their premises.
According to the statement, the state Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ejiro Jamani, the permanent secretary, staff of the ministry and other relevant authorities will monitor the clean-up exercise.
It adds that the Delta State Waste Management Board, local government councils and other relevant authorities will evacuate the resultant refuse to approved dump sites in the state.
The statement warned that those found not taking part in the exercise will be brought before mobile magistrate courts and prosecuted accordingly.
