Rivers State Police commissioner, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu has charged newly promoted officers of the command to redouble their efforts in providing effective policing.
In a statement made available to journalists in Port Harcourt by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, CP Disu gave the charge shortly after decorating the senior police officers who were recently promoted in the command.
At the brief ceremony to celebrate the officers, CP Disu acknowledged the timely approval of the promotions by the Police Service Commission (PSC) in Abuja sequel to the recommendations of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun.
Congratulating the newly promoted officers, CP Disu thanked the IGP for the privilege given to him to decorate them.
He urged them to consider their elevation as a call for a renewed commitment to service and to the duty of policing.
Within the Rivers State Command, 6 officers were elevated from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC).
9 officers were also elevated from Superintendent of Police (SP) to CSP, and 45 officers elevated from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
