The Delta state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Community Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, has called on non governmental organizations operating in the state, to register with the ministry for proper synergy.
Princess Ajudua made the call today while receiving members of the Working Fingers International Initiative, WOFII, and leaders of other partners, comprising different active NGOs, who paid her a courtesy visit in her office, in Asaba.
She said the ministry is passionate about issues affecting women and children, and was ready to partner with organizations interested in providing genuine care to the vulnerable in the society.
The Commissioner thanked the group for the visit.
The leader of the delegation and Executive Director of the Working Fingers International Initiative WOFII, Ambassador Eris Jewo-Ibi, said the visit was to congratulate the commissioner on her assumption of office and to introduce the group to her.
Ambassador Jewo-Ibi stressed the need for constant inclusion of the Civil Society Groups and Community Based Organizations in the activities of the ministry, for effective service delivery.
She intimated the Commissioner of the cases of Gender Based Violence GBV, currently being followed up by the team and called for urgency in the response of the Ministry to the cases referred to them.
Ambassador Jewo-Ibi also urged the Ministry to make the processes of registration easy for Non Governmental Organizations operating in the state.
