Amidst heightened tension in France caused by the Israel-Hamas war, a woman reportedly threatening passers-by in southern Paris, have been shot by French counter-terrorism police
Reports say passengers at the Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand train station alerted the Police who intervened.
The woman, said to be wearing a veil, reportedly threatened to blow herself up, and refused to comply with police orders, hence they opened fire.
According to the report, the woman was heard shouting “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is greatest”.
She is said to be critical but stable after being shot in the abdomen.
France increased its counter-terrorism security alert earlier this month, when a teacher was killed and two people seriously injured at a school in northern France by an attacker who reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar”.
