Prayers of the church has been a stabilising factor in Nigeria – Oborevwori

The Governor of Delta State, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has called on religious leaders to intensify prayers for the peace and development of the country.

Governor Oborevwori made the call when he played host to the State Executive of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, at the Government House, Asaba.

He affirmed that the prayers of the church has been a stabilising factor in Nigeria, and commended the leadership and members of CAN for their efforts in praying for the peace and development of the nation

The Governor said his administration remained committed to it’s M.O.R.E Agenda aimed at Advancing Delta.

He expressed respect for the Association saying that he would continue to support the Church, adding that any representative of the Christian community in his government, must be one accepted by all.

The leader of the delegation and state chairman of CAN, Apostle Sylvanus Okorote, said the visit was to congratulate and rejoice with the Governor on his recent triple victories at the election tribunal and steps taken to fast track development of the State.

Apostle Okorote said CAN and Deltans in general were happy with the award of contracts for flyovers and roads to Julius Berger in the Effurun and Warri area of the state as well as palliatives provided for civil servants and the downtrodden in the state.

He thanked the Governor for his prompt action in restoring peace to Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities and for the measures to address some federal roads in the state.
