The Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed nominees whose names were sent to the House by governor Sheriff Oberevwori for appointments into the Governing Boards of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency; the State Contributory Health Commission; and the Warri/Uvwie and Environs special Areas Development Agency
The House which screened the members of the governing boards in batches, dissolved itself into a Committee of the Whole.
Those screened were Honourable Emmanuel Okoro (Chairman), Patrick Ukah (Director General) Chekwube Hope and Ogaga Akpomedaye to serve as members of the Governing Board of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency.

Same honor was accorded Chief Patrick Ukah whom the chairman said had in the past appeared before the House for screening for various appointments he held in the state.
He said other members, having met requirements, should also take a bow.
The Committee also Screened Dr Austin Obidi and Dr Isaac Akpoveta as Chairman and Director General of the Governing Board of the Delta State Health Contributory Commission.
Dr Joseph Otumara, Honourable Prince Ejinyere, Isaac Itobi, Agbosa Stanley and Eunice Oshionwu were screened as members of the governing board of the Warri/ Uvwie and Environs special Area Development agency, where Dr Joseph Otumara and Honourable Prince Ejinyere are to serve as Chairman and Director -General, having also been given the privilege to take a bow.
The Majority Leader moved for the individual confirmation of the nominees, seconded by their representatives.
The Speaker, Hon Guwor, charged the appointees to live up to expectations.
The Deputy Speaker, Honourable Authur Akpowowo had earlier raised a motion under matters of public importance for government’s intervention to avert public disturbance and recurrence of the destruction of farmlands by herdsmen in Abraka, in Ethiope East Local government area, and its neighbouring communities.
He said the occurrence had caused untold hardship on the people as their crops and livelihood had been destroyed.
Other lawmakers who spoke in favour of the motion stressed the urgency of taking action to checkmate the menance of herdsmen in the state, in line with the state government’s agenda of entrenching peace and security.
