Rivers State gets new Commissioner of Police

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed Olatunji Disu as the new Commissioner of Police for Rivers State Command.

CP Disu replaces CP Nwonyi Emeka. Disu’s new appointment comes barely seven months after he was promoted alongside 32 others from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to Commissioner of Police (CP). Disu is the former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He previously served in the Rivers State Police Command as the Deputy Head of the State Criminal Investigation Department.

The IGP also appointed seven other Commissioners of Police to lead different commands as part of the ongoing measures towards strengthening security, tackling violent crimes, and enhancing optimal coordination of policing operations across Nigeria.
