Subsidize Treatment And Drugs For Children – NAWOJ South South to Governors

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, South South has called on South South Governors to look into subsidizing treatment and drugs for children in the region.

The Vice Chairperson NAWOJ South South, Comrade Stella Macaulay and Zonal Secretary Comrade Eunice Emeyazia made the call in a statement to mark the 2024 Children’s Day celebration.

They said the call became necessary given the high cost of healthcare services and drugs, at a time when many parents were still grappling with dwindling economic resources and national inflation.

The NAWOJ South South leaders urged the Governors to synergize with House of Assembly members to enact laws that would guarantee children’s access to free healthcare, bearing in mind that children are the treasure of any nation.
