
The General Manager, Delta Broadcasting Service Asaba, Mrs.
Christiana Jobome-Emetulu, stated this during a 1 day capacity building work shop for 100 staff held on Wednesday, at the Chike Edozien Secretariat, Asaba.
She recalled the 2-Day capacity building workshop on Personnel Leadership and Self Development held on the 26th through 27th Of October, 2023, for Management Staff, to position them as Leaders to effectively execute their functions and inspire staff towards high productivity.
The General Manager said the training was a strategy to realizing the
mandate of the Delta Broadcasting Service Asaba, of effectively Propagating the Programmes of
the State Government encapsulated in the MORE Agenda, while also educating and entertaining the public.
“Today, we are taking the Manpower Development Agenda of the State
Government a notch higher, by training 100 Staff of DBS, Asaba.
“The objective of this training is to enhance the performance of staff through topics on assigning of roles, performance evaluation processes and enhancing the capacities of staff on relationship with the government, private sector, customer care, personal effectiveness and work ethics of the organization” she said
Mrs Jebome- Emetulu thanked the state Government for positioning her as the General Manager of the station, to contribute to the manpower development of the state, and commended the efforts of the Facilitators – Hospitrane Training Consultant, led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pastor Afolabi Adun and the Deputy Director Administration, Government House and Protocol Mr. Victor Osuya.
She urged staff to utilize the training to enhance their capacity and bring the knowledge to bear in thrdevelop the Delta Broadcasting Service Asaba.
The resource persons harped on the need for staff to exhibit high sense of professionalism in the discharge of their duties, and avoid acts that could lead to misconduct and abuse of office.
Some participants who spoke after the training, expressed satisfaction, describing the training as insightful and educative.
They appealed for it’s sustenance.
The event featured question and answer session to clarify grey areas, presentation of commemorative calenders for the training exercise, and certificates to participants, as well as birthday felicitations to the facilitator of program – Pastor Afolabi Adun.
