Commissioner for Girl Child Entrepreneurship and Humanitarian Support Services, Delta State, Miss Orode Uduaghan has called on Non Governmental Organizations to key into the MORE Agenda of the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborovwori Administration.
Miss Uduaghan who made the call in Asaba the State capital, on Friday, said her Ministry will keep the feet at the gas pedal for the overall good of Deltans.
She commended the NGOs for their service to humanity, and admonished them to be resourceful and diligent in the discharge of their duties to ensure the four components of National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) in Delta State sustain it’s momentum.
Miss Uduaghan disclosed that her appointment Into the Ministry of Girl Child Entrepreneurship and Humanitarian Support Services was divinely orchestrated adding that she accepted it as an assignment from God.
“It’s a huge responsibility that we have been given. And me coming into the Ministry of Girl Child Entrepreneurship and Humanitarian Support Services was divinely orchestrated and I take it as an assignment from God.
It’s not a job for me. It’s an assignment and when God gives you an assignment you do it” she added.
While saying that she had been involved in humanitarian activities for more than a decade, the Commissioner tasked the NGOs to ensure they do their best as the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) was important to Deltans and the Nation as a whole.
She advised that they remained focussed in order not to derail from the service entrusted to them.
” Am not asking for hundred per cent perfect. And am not asking for your perfection. I just want you to apply yourself in the best way you can” she advised.
Miss Uduaghan observed that some of the components of NSIP has not been in full force in recent months due to electioneering activities and it’s aftermath but assured that all the four components of the Programme would be in full swing soon.
Present at the event were the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Wilson Chukwuka, Director Community Support Services, Mrs. Thecla Agamah, the Coordinator Government Empowerment and Enterprises Programme (GEEP) Mr. Henry Agwazim and Programme Manager, National Home-grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) Mr. Epiphany Kalibeh as well as NGOs from across the twenty -five Local Government Areas of the State.
