Women World Cup 2023: There Would Be Public Holiday If The Maltidas Win – NSW Premier

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns will back a public holiday if the Matildas win the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Australian team advanced to the quarter-finals last night with a 2-0 win over Denmark.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had previously flagged a public holiday if the Matildas won the Cup.

The date for the grand final is a Sunday, so it’s not known what the public holiday would be.

Some persons are however opposing the notion.

Vaucluse MP and NSW shadow environment minister Kellie Sloane said it would be an unfair burden on business owners.
