….Police Authorities Intervene

The Delta state police force has responded to the chaotic situation that occurred along the Okpanam road, by the midwifery market, Asaba, the Delta State capital.
NIM online News reports that the armed men came out in their numbers, around past 10am (GMT) to bring the situation under control, restoring the confidence of residents, business owners and commuters along the route.
The rioters allegedly manhandled innocent persons going about their businesses.
A stray bullet reportedly hit a business man who sells building materials around the area.
NIM Online had earlier reported that the situation which escalated around 9am (GMT) had trapped many passersby and commuters, as they scampered for safety, with teargas filling the atmosphere.
Details of the cause is still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
