The 50th birthday celebration of Hon. Innocent Esewezie was a double celebration as he not only user the occasion to thank God for the gift of life, but also ensuring a peaceful and impactful completion of his one year tenure as a local Government chairman.
A praise and worship session set the tone for the celebration.
The citation of the celebrant revealed some of his achievements
The event which held at the Oshimili North Liaison Office, Ibusa, attracted dignitaries from all walks of life, including the member representing Oshimili North in the Delta state House of Assembly, Hon. Frank Esenwa and his Aniocha south counterpart, chief Isaac Anwuzia, the state commissioner for youths, comrade Isaac Agbateyinro, the PDP Chairman in the area, chief Nduka Ogwuda, the chairman Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Austine Obidi, the immediate past Secretary to the state Governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, traditional rulers from various communities in delta North and various Associations and groups.
Addressing the gathering, the celebrant who is also the Ugo-Nwa Ibusa, and the Ezi- nwajiani 1 of oshimili North, described himself as a product of the grace of God, recalling how God has led him in his political career and preserved him and other leaders in the council, throughout their 3years of service to the people.
Hon. Esewezie thanked the traditional rulers in Delta North for the confidence reposed in him and for their shows of support, while also thanking indigenes of the area for their cooperation and solidarity, which he said enabled him achieve the much he could within the tenure, adding that he is a very happy man.
Recalling the passing of his parents at their prime, he said God has granted him long life, hence, the event was put together to return all the glory to God.
The wife of the celebrant, Mrs Flora Esewezie who had marked her birthday a day before, expressed gratitude to God and to the people of Oshimili North for finding her husband worthy to serve, and supporting him to complete his one year tenure successfully, say that she was proud of him.
The event featured dance presentation by the Egwuoma dance troupe Ibusa, entertainment by the Ebu music group and a life band, as well as cutting of the birthday cake by the celebrant, flanked by his wife Flora, and other dignitaries, as well as prayers for the celebrant by the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its Oshimili North chairman, Special Apostle Nwokobia.
An emotional moment during the presentation of gifts was when the personal aide to Hon. Esewezie presented him an enlarged photo of the late mother of the celebrant.
