JNR. POPE: Nollywood Suspends Movies Involving Riverine Areas & Boat Rides

…..Says No Shoot on All Locations Nationwide

All Films that involve riverine areas and boat riding has been suspended indefinitely.

This is contained in a statement from the office of the national president of the Actors Guild Of Nigeria AGN, to all Nollywood dated 11th April 2024.

In the statement, the National President of the Actors Guild Of Nigeria AGN, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas MON said the Leadership of the Guild made the decision following the tragic incident of boat mishap that claimed the life of the Asaba based actor, Mr John Paul Odonwodo aka Junior Pope and four other crew members at the waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on Wednesday, 10th of April 2024, on a movie set titled “The other side of Life” produced by Adamma Luke.

The Leadership of the Guild also suspended indefinitely the film “Another side of Life, which is the title of the movie that the actors were featuring in, before the incident.

It also barred actors from working with Adamma Luke as a producer till further notice

” No Shoot on all locations Nationwide on Thursday 11th April 2024

“While we keep searching for the bodies of the remaining persons may their soul rest in peace” the statement added.
