Partner with Entertainment Industry to boost Tourism – Larry Zuka tells government

The need for the Nigerian government to partner relevant stakeholders in the entertainment industry to boost the country’s tourism potential has been emphasized.

A notable Nigerian film maker and music producer based in the United States, Mr Ugochukwutubeluonye Azukaego, popularly known as Larry Zuka, stated this in an interview with NIM correspondent in Asaba.

The Multi-talented Nigerian American artiste, who has won many awards including the best movie director in Africa 2011, from the movie titled Vengeance of bullet and the Sugar Boy, noted that the mind of an artiste remained a gold mine that need to be harnessed.

He urged government to listen to the yearnings of those in the entertainment industry, provide grants to practitioners who deserve them, collaborate with stakeholders in the industry to create social, economic and health Programmes that would enhance their living standards, make the industry thrive, and serve as a boost to the state in the long run

The music producer who had earlier described his brand of music as ‘Africa folk rock’, advised budding artiste to remain steadfast in the pursuit of their dreams and keep practicing, while also calling on government and non government agencies to create platforms for young artistes to express themselves and showcase their talents, as such meaningful engagements was vital for societal development.

The U S based singer, actor and filmmaker, observed that the Nigerian music industry was growing commercially, adding however that there was need for improvement in the creativity concepts and message composition, bearing in mind that music was beyond beats.

Larry Zuka who is also a content creator described as a figment of bloggers imagination the rumour that made the round that he got married to Rita Daniels, a Nigerian actress and mother inlaw to billionaire Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, noting that it was just a concept behind a music video he shot for one of his songs titled, In Love with You, where he featured Rita Daniels who has been a friend for decades.

He hinted that he was already creating another love song that would thrill lovers of good music when it is released to the public, and urged all to anticipate.

Speaking on the recent trend of actors falling ill and seeking public support for payment of medical bill, he said diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol were three silent killers prevalent in the country.
He urged those in the entertainment industry and indeed every Nigerian, to imbibe healthy lifestyle, eat right especially vegetables and fruits, rest well, exercise daily and avail themselves of regular medical checkup.

The film producer also called on film producers to cutdown on the Carbs served at location, especially for those above 50 years, as it would help in minimizing such occurrence.
